About the Role We are looking for a Senior Accountant who is detail-oriented, analytically strong, and genuinely passionate about clean financials and accurate reporting. This role owns core accounting processes across a portfolio of client engagements including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card transactions, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations. You will also support operational functions such as job code creation, accounting schedule maintenance, and ad hoc financial reporting.
The right candidate is highly organized, a strong communicator, and comfortable managing multiple priorities without losing accuracy or attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts payable: enter vendor bills and ensure timely and accurate payments
- Accounts receivable: create invoices, record and reconcile incoming payments including ACH and wire transfers, and monitor A/R aging reports for past due accounts
- Credit card transactions: record company credit card transactions to the correct G/L accounts and ensure proper allocation across divisions and customers where applicable
- Job codes: create and maintain new job codes in the accounting system and ensure consistency across all company systems and reporting
- Intercompany eliminations: post intercompany elimination journal entries for revenue and project costs across divisions
- Accounting schedules: update deferred revenue, prepaid expense, and other accounting schedules monthly to support balance sheet accuracy
- Balance sheet reconciliations: reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
- General ledger maintenance: ensure general ledger accounts are accurate and compliant with internal policies
- Financial close: support the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Administrative support: provide occasional support for finance and operations-related administrative tasks
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of core accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong technical aptitude
Preferred
- 1 to 3 years of accounting experience in a fast-growing or project-based environment
- Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
