At Wefinx, we work with ambitious owner-managed Canadian businesses generating between $3M and $50M in revenue. These are founders and business owners who need CFO-level thinking but do not need or want a full-time hire. You will serve as their senior financial partner, embedded in their strategic and financial decision-making, delivering real impact across a portfolio of clients.

This is a self-employed role operating within a defined model. You get the support and structure of a well-established firm with the autonomy and flexibility to deliver outcomes in your own way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the CFO-level partner for a portfolio of owner-managed businesses across industries
  • Lead financial strategy, planning, and analysis for assigned clients
  • Oversee management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Support business owners through financing, capital raising, and lender relationships
  • Identify risks, improve systems and controls, and implement KPI reporting frameworks
  • Drive profit improvement, cash flow optimization, and operational efficiency
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, business sales, and exit planning processes
  • Review and advise on business plans, growth strategies, and major financial decisions
  • Optimize tax and legal structure in collaboration with the advisory and tax teams
  • Build trusted long-term relationships with business owners as a strategic sounding board

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience serving in a CFO capacity, commercial and strategic
  • CPA designation required
  • MBA is an asset
  • Experience across some or all of the following is strongly valued: business sales and exits, sourcing and structuring financing, mergers and acquisitions, KPI and management reporting implementation, profit and cash flow improvement, compliance and controls, and strategic business planning
